Function after Wrist Arthrodesis with Non-Vascularized Fibular Graft in Distal Radius Giant Cell Tumor: Case Series

چکیده

Giant cell tumor (GCT) of bone, the most common benign locally aggressive bone tumor, accounts for 4% to 5% all primary neoplasms and 20% tumors. The distal radius is third commonest site involvement in about 10% GCT cases. Due high recurrence rate after curettage more progressed lesions, surgeons prefer en bloc resection followed by reconstruction. Cases: Three Campanacci III cases underwent wrist arthrodesis with non-vascularized fibular graft. mean follow-up period was nine months (6-12 months). Patients were evaluated Disabilities Arm, Shoulder, Hand (DASH) Score. Results: Union had been achieved 2 patients, implant removal done. One patient needs cancellous grafting removal—no sign one year. DASH score showed moderate disability. Conclusion: Autogenous graft reconstruction can be considered a reasonable option GCT.
Cell Tumor adalah tulang jinak yang paling sering dijumpai, bersifat agresif secara lokal, merupakan 4-5% dari seluruh neoplasma primer dan jinak. Radius lokasi terbanyak ketiga, mencakup kasus GCT. Mengingat tingginya rekurensi setelah prosedur kuretase, lebih disukai reseksi diikuti rekonstruksi. Kasus: Tiga pasien pada (Campanacci III) menjalani disertai pergelangan tangan. Follow-up rata-rata selama 9 bulan (range 6-12 bulan). Pasien dinilai menggunakan skor (DASH). Hasil: tercapai pasien, implan telah dicabut. Satu membutuhkan tulanag pencabutan implan. Tidak didapatkan periode satu tahun. Skor menunjukkan disabilitas sedang ketiga pasien. Simpulan: Prosedur rekonstruksi nonvascularized baik dilakukan distal.

Free Vascularized Fibular Graft for Distal Tibial and Ankle Arthrodesis

The free vascularized fibular graft (FVFG) to the tibia was first described by Taylor et al in 1975.1 Since then, the operation has evolved to include transfer of adjacentmuscle, and in 1983 Chen andYandescribedanosteocutaneousflap.2These advancements have provided a limb-sparing option to those patients once destined for amputation. Indications for these procedures now include trauma, chronic ...

Distal radius reconstruction with vascularized proximal fibular autograft after en-bloc resection of recurrent giant cell tumor

BACKGROUND Giant cell tumors (GCTs) located in the distal radius are likely to recur, and the treatment of such recurrent tumors is very difficult. Here, we report our clinical experience in distal radius reconstruction with vascularized proximal fibular autografts after en-bloc excision of the entire distal radius in 17 patients with recurrent GCT (RGCT) of the distal radius. METHODS All 17 ...

Osteoarticular allograft reconstruction of the distal radius after giant cell tumor resection

Abstract  Background: Resection of the distal end of the radius is indicated in the treatment  of locally aggressive primary benign and malignant bone tumors. The aim of this study  was to evaluate the technique of osteoarticular allograft reconstruction of the distal radius after wide excision of a giant-cell tumor.  Methods: We analyzed 15 patients retrospectively who had reconstruction of t...

Reconstruction of the distal radius with non-vascularised fibular graft after resection of giant cell tumour of bone.

PURPOSE To evaluate outcomes of wide resection and reconstruction of the distal radius with non-vascularised autogenous fibular grafts for giant cell tumour (GCT) of bone. METHODS Medical records of 7 men and 5 women aged 22 to 47 (mean, 31) years who underwent wide resection of the distal radius and reconstruction with non-vascularised autogenous fibular grafts for GCT of bone were reviewed....

Wrist Joint Reconstruction With a Vascularized Fibula Free Flap Following Giant Cell Tumor Excision in the Distal Radius

OBJECTIVE Multiple therapeutic modalities exist for giant cell tumors (GCT) in the distal radius. The majority of GCTs are amenable to curettage, with the expanded lesions requiring a more radical approach. This case report examines the technique of managing a GCT that has extended beyond the boundaries of the cortex and into local tissues. The decision to use arthroplasty versus arthrodesis an...
